Julian Manzelli -aka Chu- (Argentina) plans a series of rituals that take shape in compositional sketches from chance and symbolic experiences. Shapes, materials and colors are ordered giving rise to a visual system that is developed in pieces of different formats and techniques, ranging from studio work in painting, sculpture and engraving to large installations and murals in public spaces.
The path is characterized by an imprecise balance between the figurative and the abstract, giving rise to symbols and pseudo-characters, which immerse the viewer in a playful exercise of intriguing interpretation based on rhythmic compositions of shape and colour.
Julian Manzelli's work poses a contrast between urban life, science and nature. From 1998 to the present, he is part of DOMA collective (@DomaCollective) in which he develops an extensive background in Animation, Contemporary Urban Art, Art-toys and sculptures and installation works in large formats. As of 2006, he incorporates into his artistic work a personal development of research, essay and production, linked to geometric abstraction and the synergistic exploration between Art and Science.
