Antonio Navarro Fernández (France, 1966) is graduated in Fine Arts at Miguel Hernández University, Elche, where he got the title of Doctor as well. He is also Professor at the University of Salamanca, Spain.
His work could be framed between Silence and the Fleeting, between carborundum engraving, expanded graphics and digital printing. Between the tonal nuances of a universe full of dyes that make each piece autonomous, silent and fleeting, although in them appears the thunderous noise of a lost look in search of an element that keeps him anchored to a fleeting existence. Understanding abstraction as the best element to get to show landscapes that are erected in its interior, with the superposition of veiled layers, which syncretize in a total image.
With many awards, his art works has been exhibited in several countries, in public and private institutions.
“Charcoal, the material used to give warmth and at the same time to draw in the hollows of the caves where our ancestors lived, I recovered this element to stain the walls in the manner of a musical note of silence.
The methacrylate appears as a container support that holds the essence of the charcoal, in which we appear reflected, making us participants in the installation itself. Finally, fragile paper appears, with memory, as matter, in the search for a new space of creation.”
